Shreveport man who robbed a North Market gas station in 2009 was handed a 203-year prison sentence today.
Melvin Johnson, 50, was sentenced to 198 years for the robbery and an addition five years for carrying the crime out with a handgun. Caddo District Judge Craig Marcotte ordered the two to run concurrent.
“I hope this sentence sends out a message that we will do everything in our power to protect hardworking individuals who are trying to earn a living and make ends by locking up criminals like this,” Dhu Thompson, assistant Caddo district attorney said.
Not condoning the robbery...but thats a little extreme...and people are get way less for worse crimes.
