Baby Confronts R. Kelly, Speaks On Rumors Of Drake Writing For Lil Wayne
In an interview with Ozone Magazine, Cash Money Records founder Birdman, also known as Baby, confronted R&B recording artist, R. Kelly, insisting that past collaborations resulted in financial debt.
When asked "What's the worst business investment you've made throughout your career", Baby replied "Probably the worst investment I did was fuckin’ with R. Kelly. That was a waste of my time. I could’ve made money if I wasn’t fuckin’ with that clown-ass nigga."
In 2003, Baby was slated to drop a joint album with R. Kelly for Best of Both Worlds II, a follow up to the 2002 album featuring Jay-Z, but the album never took off the ground.
Ozone Magazine also addressed the recent rumors circulating around Drake and Lil Wayne. When asked if Drake writes for Wayne, Baby responded, "C’mon, man. Wayne don’t even write, man. Honestly Wayne don’t write. I don’t know how he do that shit he do, but don’t no nigga do it for him. Wayne don’t play that shit, he never did. We ain’t with that shit. That’s cheatin’ to me, when you’re trying to be great. When you’re just an artist that wants a hot record, that’s something different, but when you’re trying to be great you ain’t bout to let no nigga write for you, cause you don’t wanna lose none of the credit. Wayne wants to be the best to ever do it. To be the greatest ever takes your skillful thoughts, not another person's."
Brian “Birdman/Baby” Williams dropped his fourth studio album Pricele$$ in November of 2009. The project, which debuted at number three on the U.S. Billboard Top Rap Albums features Drake, Lil Wayne, T-Pain, Bun B and more.
